The relevance of chemokines and chemokine receptors in the Helicobacter pylori gastritis and H. pylori associated malignant tumors of the stomach (carcinoma, MALT lymphoma)
Project management at the University of Würzburg:
To get insights in chemokine-driven processes in the inflammation of the gastritic mucosa and the development of gastric tumors during H. pylori infection the expression-pattern and the microanatomical localisation of chemokines and their receptors in H. pylori gastritis, H. pylori associated carcinomas and MALT-type lymphomas of the stomach are investigated. The role of different pathogenic H. pylori strains on the chemokine- and chemokine-receptor expression are studied in vitro. To evaluate the role of chemokines in the pathogenesis of gastric carcinomas, the influence of H. pylori on the chemokine- and chemokinereceptor expression will be investigated.
Projekt period: from 08.2000 to 12.2002
