Methods and tools for movement adapted positioning corrections in radiotherapy.
Project management at the University of Würzburg:
Position and movement of a tumor during a radiotherapy session are a difficult problem. Using correlation of Target movement with external and internal markers parameters are generated which allow a prediction of internal coordinate changes and in a second step a real time adaptation of the radiation source or of the patient. This makes reduction of safety margins and dose escalation possible.
