COP9 Signalosome Associated Nemo-like Kinase (Nlk) Modulates Neddylation of Cellular Proteins

Abstract:
Inactivation of the Nlk gene by homologues recombination in mice leads to disturbance of neuronal differentiation, in particular in the cerebellum. In order to characterise this defect in more detail, we have identified interaction partners for Nlk. Nlk associates with components of the signalosome complex. This association leads to changes in neddylation of specific E3 ubiquitin ligases. By this way, various signalling pathways, including the Ras/Raf/MAPK pathway, NFkappaB and wnt cascades are modulated.
