real numbers, rational numbers, p-adic numbers, automorphisms, substructures

Results:
This project deals with the basic number systems, i.e. the real numbers, the rational numbers and the p-adic numbers. We consider the algebraic structures, the order structures and the topological structures of these number systems from an abstract point of view, and we investigate the interplay between these structural features. The aim of the project is to produce a monograph with the same title.
