Title:
Functional analysis of the hairy related basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) factor Hey2 during mouse development

Project management at the University of Würzburg:

Abstract:
Hey2 is a member of a newly discovered family of hairy related genes with highly specific expression patterns during embryonic development. Hey2 is likely involved in establishing our body plan and cardiovascular development. We plan to characterize Hey2 function through overexpression in fish, protein transduction and knockout in the mouse.
