Abstract:
We have cloned the vertebrate homolog of the Drosophila four-jointed gene, fjx1 and we have characterized its expression. In the fly the gene is involved in proximo-distal growth and the establishment of cell polarity. We plan to identify the putative fjx1 receptor to characterize the signalling pathway and developmental role of this novel ligand.
