Results:
In the framework of the competence network "Embryonal Tumors" we maintain the German nephroblastoma tumor bank and we perform the initial molecular genetic screening. Here we search for chormosomal allele loss or mutations of candidate genes for tumorigenesis. Further analyses include expression screening or profiling. These data are correlated with clinical parameters like response to therapy or frequency of metastasis to develop new informative markers for further improvement of therapy and prognosis.
