Abstract:
The objective of project C2 (project director Dr. Vogel) is to develop a generic screening instrument aiming at the identification of vocational problems of rehabilitation patients, the assessment of the need for vocational rehabilitation and the selection of vocational rehabilitation interventions. By the identification of vocational problems, patients can be specifically assigned to a vocationally oriented therapy in rehabilitation clinics. Furthermore, the new assessment instrument enables to select in advance the rehabilitation clinic adequate for the patients individual needs.
The objective of project C3 (project director Dr. Neuderth) is to determine the status quo of vocationally oriented interventions in rehabilitation clinics with the aim to evaluate these interventions under a scientific and practical perspective and to develop a strategy for the dissemination of best practice for vocationally oriented therapy in rehabilitation clinics in Germany.
Working plan:
In project C2 the assessment instrument will be developed according to classical test theory.
In project C3 all rehabilitation clinics in Germany will be included in a survey on vocationally oriented interventions. A set of evaluation-criteria will be developed by reviewing the international literature and organizing a symposium and expert discussions. A guideline for best practice will be provided.
Utilisation and implementation of the results:
In project C2 the assessment instrument including a manual will be provided to rehabilitation funding agencies and rehabilitation clinics.
In project C3 the guideline for best practice detailing a strategy how to disseminate and implement vocationally oriented interventions will be provided to rehabilitation funding agencies, rehabilitation clinics and other significant stakeholders.
