Abstract:
The efficacy of the entire “rehabilitation chain” of accident insurance results in part from the quality of the individual treatment stations (physician, initial hospital, BGSW-clinic) as well as from an effective management of the interface points. Decisive are the interface points in the transition from one institution to the next as well as the point of contact between the treating institutions and the responsible accident insurance carrier, who deals with steering the healing procedure. In order to benefit from the advantages of the rehabilitation, an optimal co-operation (especially extensive exchange of information) between the institutions taking part in the rehabilitation of the injured party and the accident insurance carrier is vital. As an aid in the transfer of information there exists an institutionally well-expanded report system, which consists of formal texts and informal reports.

The aim of the study is to analyse the report system of legal accident insurance concerning the interface points with BGSW-procedures with regard to temporal and content aspects. Based on the obtained data, the causes for delays in and content weaknesses of the reports are to be investigated and proposals made for an optimisation of the practice of reports.
