Abstract:
Inactivation of the NFATc2 (=NFATp) gene in mice showed that their T cells have defects in the induction of the 'Activation Induced Cell Death' (AICD). Further analyses in our laboratory indicated that also NFATc3 and NFATc1/C, the longest isoform of NFATc1, are able to induce AICD. In the frame of this project we would like to determine by retroviral infections and the creation of 'knock in' mice following by investigations using cDNA microarrays the target genes which control AICD of T lymphocytes.
