Tissue engineering for treatment of local bone loss using injectable growth factor/stem cell constructs

For therapeutic options minimal invasive tissue engineering methods are developed for local bone augmentation. Therapeutic options include mesenchymal stem cells, osteoinductive growth factors and injectable bone substitutes as scaffolds. New bone formation is evaluated in vitro and in animal models. For animal studies the rat ectopic model and a rat osteoporosis model will be established. Experiments are performed using histological, radiological and molecular biology methods.
