Forschungsschwerpunkte (und Projekte auf Basis der Grundausstattung):
Folgende Themen wurden voranging bearbeitet:
1) Molekulargenetik und Pathophysiologie primärer Immundefekte, insbesondere X-geschlechtsgebunden vererbte Agammaglobulinämie (XLA), Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), X-geschlechtsgebunden vererbtes lymphoproliferatives Syndrom (XLP), Apoptose-Defekte und TNFα-Rezeptor assoziiertes periodisches Fieber (TRAPS).
2) Vergleichende Untersuchungen über die T-Zell-vermittelte Immunität nach Masern und Masernimpfung.
3) Quantitative Analyse spezifischer Memory-B-Lymphozyten nach aktiver Immunisierung mit Tetanus- und Diphtherie-Impfstoffen.
4) Molekulargenetische, hämostasiologische und immunologische Untersuchungen bei Patienten mit Konjunktivitis lignosa und hochgradigem Plasminogenmangel.
5) Untersuchungen über die Mechanismen der Antimykotika-Resistenz bei Candida- und Aspergillus-Spezies; Entwicklung neuer antimykotischer Therapiemodalitäten.
