Research foci (and basic equipment-based research projects):
There are several areas of research. Projects concern possible causes of reading and spelling problems, the early prevention of reading problems, and more generally interrelationships among reading speed, reading comprehension, and spelling in various age groups.
Our research identified different causes of reading and spelling problems, indicating that both genetic factors and environmental influences prove to be influential. Overall, early prevention programs have proved to be important. Finally, interrelationships among indicators of reading and spelling seem to increase as a function of age.
