Research foci (and basic equipment-based research projects):
Psychological factors in M. Parkinson and other chronical diseases of the
CNS are investigated in order to develop specific psychological
interventions. Psychosocial conditions of Parkinson patients and their
caregivers are assessed by questionnaires. Interventions developed according
to this information are based on methods of cognitive behavior therapy.

Results:
There appeared to be substantial need for psychological interventions in
patients and caregivers. Components of stress management, systematic
situational analysis and social competence training proved useful for
improving quality of life and complementing medical therapy

Equipment:
Funding by university budget and from projects funded by the German
Parkinson Association (dPV) as well as the DAAD (Vigoni Programme) and the EU
