Abstract:
The aim of the project is the identification of new antigens of Helicobacter pylori using different techniques including the screening with patients sera of a protein secretion bank of Helicobacter pylori using the E. coli hemolysin secretion system, or 2-D gel electrophoresis of whole cell lysates. Proteins, which show a positive reactions in these assays are either identified by the direct sequencing of the respective genes (in the case of the protein secretion library) or by mass spectrometry (in the case of the 2-D gels). Interesting factors will be investigated for the induction of a protective immune response in animal models.
