Investigations on the Biosynthesis of Naturally Occurring Diazepam-Like 1,4-Benzodiazepines
Project management at the University of Würzburg:
Completey unexpectedly, Valium-type benzodiazepines, which are widely used as synthetic anxiolytics, have recently been found to be natural products. Our project aimed at the exploration of their biosynthetic origin by chemo-enzymatic studies in mould strains and plant cell cultures to identify presumable intermediates of naturally formed benzodiazepines.
Projekt period: from 08.1998 to 05.2001
