Research foci (and basic equipment-based research projects):
International cooperation with Japan and the Ukraine and with the Fritz Haber Institut (Berlin) on specific problems in nonlinear dynamics: Stochastic resonance, resonant chaos control and spatial pattern formation in nonlinear reactions. All experimental phenomena wer supported and interpreted by computer simulations of specific mechanisms.
Results:
Stochastic resonance which has been measured in chemical reactions for the first time in our group has also been demonstrated in the oxidation of ascorbic acid with oxygen in the open system and interpreted mechanistically with computer simulations. Chaos control has been demonstrated in a light sensitive reaction. Spatial synchronization could be demonstrated by variable light intensities for the first time.
Publications see above
Equipment:
All experiments were carried out with our highly precise experimental equipment as described in our publications
