Research foci (and basic equipment-based research projects):
Raman difference spectroscopy and femtosecond time-resolved CARS spectroscopy is applied in this project to investigate binary, ternary etc. mixtures of liquiuds. The changes in the Raman spectra with respect to the pure solvents (small wavenumber shifts, changes in the line profile) have been determined as a function of the mole fraction and analyzed with a model based on quantum mechanical calculations. Femtosecond time-resolved CARS spectroscopy has been applied to investigate the dynamical processes taking place within such a mixture.
