Third-party-funded project

The anti-apoptotic protein ITA is essential for NGF-mediated survival of embryonic chick neurons

Project management at the University of Würzburg:

Participating scientists:

Members of the IAP/ITA-gene family spefically interact with signalling proteins which are activated during programmed cell death. We could show, that neurotrophic factors upregulate expression of members of the IAP-family and that this mechanism is essential for survival of embryonic sensory and sympathetic neurons.
